Kick off the ice season.
Pray for thiccc routes and even thicccer sends. Every year the SW Montana ice crew gets together to kick off the season with a fire, food, cold drinks, stories, beta and a lot of stoke before the first real ice comes in.

Where
G1, Hyalite Canyon
Hyalite Canyon, at G1, above the Grotto Falls parking lot at the end of Hyalite Canyon Road. Park at the Grotto Falls lot. The trail to G1 starts directly east of the lot. It’s less than half a mile, with some elevation gain. Any climber in town knows it: the easiest and shortest approach to climbing in Hyalite.
It gets dark early and the canyon gets cold. Bring a headlamp, a warm layer and traction for icy trails.

Free to attend. Donations welcome.
Donate on Venmo to @Based_AdventuresLLC. The first $200 or so covers the night: food and firewood. Every dollar beyond that goes to Friends of Hyalite, the people who keep Hyalite Canyon open and cared for.
